The design of my masthead

These are some designs of font I tried, I used several different websites to help me do this and I tried to choose fonts i thought was most suitable for my genre. I first used a website called dafont.com, I used this to try because it is a well known popular website however you could not copy ad paste the fonts you had to print screen and then paste and crop them, this then led to problems of removing the background thoroughly so I tried a different website.

These are then screenshots of how I designed my second masthead:

I then used a website called www.logomaker.co.uk. This allowed me to choose which font I wanted and was able to change the colours and also add an image, I chose to use a monkey as this relates to the name 'Jungle'. I also researched in to existing mastheads and looked at what worked best. After trying out different designs I liked the idea of using a font called 'destroyed' as this made it looked smashed and broken and gave it a quirky effect. I also liked the idea of using the monkey as a logo as this worked well with the name. Below are some ideas I did when testing out different mastheads. I changed the animal and also tried different colours.

However then after adding it to my magazine and changing it around, I asked several people if there was anything they'd change and after taking this in to consideration I came up with some new ideas for mastheads by changing colours and fonts and abbreviating the words to just the letters of 'UJ' I then asked several people which one they preferred and the most popular one was this one:

I therefore will use this as my final masthead instead of the original, as I want people to like the masthead as this is the main selling point. If the audience's attention isn't drawn to the masthead then they aren't going to want to pick up the magazine again and again as the masthead stays the same throughout each edition.
I based my ideas for this final masthead on a current selling magazine named XXL below is an image of their masthead, they are a very successful magazine and even with a simple masthead it is still effective and you know the brand of the magazine instantly.
